Actress Jill Jacobson, known for her memorable roles in iconic shows such as Star Trek and Days of Our Lives, has sadly passed away at the age of 70, leaving behind a legacy of unforgettable performances.
Known for her enduring talent, Jacobson passed away on December 8 at Cedars-Sinai’s Culver West Health Center after a long illness, her friend Dan Harary revealed to The Hollywood Reporter.
In a heartfelt statement provided to Deadline, her family shared that Jacobson was “beautiful, energetic, and positive to the end, she will be deeply missed by numerous relatives, friends, and her beloved dogs Benny and Kowalski.”
Born in 1954, Jacobson pursued her passion for performance at the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a degree in radio, television, and film performance.
Jacobson’s acting career took off after she moved to Los Angeles in the 1970s. Her breakout role came in 1977 when she starred as the lead in Nurse Sherri.
Over the decades, she became a familiar face in both television and film, with an impressive array of credits. These included appearances on popular shows like Days of Our Lives, Falcon Crest, Murphy Brown, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Quantum Leap, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
She also made memorable appearances in films such as Splash and Bad Georgia Road.
Beyond acting, Jacobson explored her comedic side, performing stand-up at iconic venues like The Improv and The Comedy Store in Los Angeles.
Jacobson’s final on-screen appearance was in the series Etheria in 2020, and she is set to grace screens posthumously in the upcoming TV show Merrily, slated for release in 2025.

Jacobson is survived by her husband Paul Dorman, and their children.
