He is one of the most heavily guarded men in the world, constantly surrounded by secret service bodyguards, yet not one of Donald Trump’s minders thought to give him a heads up on Thursday as he climbed the steps to Air Force One with a piece of toilet paper stuck to the sole of his shoe.
We’ve all been there at some point, emerging from the bathroom with a little souvenir from our visit glued to our foot, but perhaps never quite so publicly as President Trump, as his glaring gaffe was caught on camera and quickly started doing the rounds online.
As videos emerged online on Friday, showing the embarrassing moment in all it’s glory, people were quick to make jokes about the toilet roll being a “metaphor for the s**t storm that is Trump” with someone else joking that the “s**t is starting to stick”.
The footage shows Trump ascending the staircase to Air Force One on his own, before stopping at the top to wave to supporters on the tarmac. Thankfully his new accessory didn’t make it on board as it finally detached itself from his left shoe in the doorway of the plane.

Puns poured in on social media as people had a field day over the hugely relatable blunder, with one user writing: “It’s a fitting look for @realDonaldTrump, especially since he’s trying to flush our country down the toilet. ”
One person joked: “Just think of all the people he must have walked past to get into his limo and then to the airport. And not a single one said anything. Well played people. Well played.” While another said: “If this isn’t a metaphor for the “s**t storm” that is trump I don’t know what is.” (sic)
And one joker commented: “Proof that Trump is full of s**t. Toilet paper follows him up AF1.”

The less than dignifying incident happened as Trump boarded the presidential plane to fly to Rochester, Minnesota where he delivered a speech, in which he hailed his Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh as an “incredible person” and slammed Democrats for trying to sabotage his character after American professor Christine Blasey Ford accused him of sexual assault.
