A “medical condition” has forced renowned singer-songwriter Billy Joel to cancel his upcoming tour dates, resulting in a four-month postponement.
A statement on Joel’s Instagram page explained to fans that, “The current tour will be postponed for four months to allow him to recover from recent surgery and to undergo physical therapy under the supervision of his doctors. Joel is expected to make a full recovery. The tour will resume at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on July 5, 2025.”
Joel also issued a statement expressing his regret over having to cancel the shows.
“While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first,” he said.
“I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding.”

Fans were quick to wish Joel all the best amid his health woes, encouraging the Uptown Girl singer to take all the time he needs to recover.
“Feel better Billy,” one wrote.
“Get well soon!”
“Take whatever time you need for you to heal. ❤️ stay healthy. We need you around a long time.!” commented another.
“Get well soon.❤️ Hoping you’ll be rocking and rolling in no time.”
The update comes after Joel suffered a fall on stage during a recent US concert.
While performing It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me, the 75-year-old music icon grabbed his microphone stand and, in a playful moment, tossed it aside. However, he lost his footing and stumbled backward, ultimately falling to the ground.
Joel’s band members quickly rushed to his aid, and after a brief moment, the determined singer got back on his feet and resumed the show, much to the audience’s relief.
