The father of Aussie man Lucas Fowler, whose body was found alongside his girlfriend just weeks ago, has delivered an emotional eulogy for his son at a memorial service to honour the 23-year-old’s life.
Lucas and his American girlfriend, Chynna Deese, 24, were shot dead more than two weeks ago on a remote stretch of the Alaska Highway.
Lucas’ father, senior police officer Stephen Fowler, told those gathered at the Uniting Church in Turramurra on Friday his son was living “a life that many of us envied” and “leaves us all with so many beautiful memories”, according to the ABC.

Stephen also reportedly paid tribute to his son’s partner, saying: “We never had the chance to meet Chynna in person but she became a part of our family.
“We are so happy that Lucas and Chynna found each other and had such a great time travelling together, meeting new friends and just milking every last drop of fun out of life. They laughed and loved, and touched the hearts of everyone they met.”

Ahead of today’s memorial, Lucas’ sister Savannah Fowler took to Facebook to share a post asking those who wanting to donate flowers as a tribute to Lucas and Chynna to instead give to a charity in their honour.
Lucas’ partner Chynna was farewelled by loved ones at a service in North Carolina a few days ago.
Meanwhile, a manhunt is still under way in Canada for two teens wanted over the suspected murder of Lucas and his girlfriend, although no charges have yet been brought in relation to their deaths.
Bryer Schmegelsky, 18, and Kam McLeod, 19, were formally charged for the murder of a third man, Leonard Dyck, from Vancouver last week.
