Beloved television presenter Larry Emdur is still buzzing after clinching television’s top honour at this year’s Logie Awards.

The host of both the Chase Australia and The Morning Show took home the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television, something he described as “the best night of my media life”.

Emdur took to social media to express his joy over the win, thanking fans for their support and kind messages.

“It’s like a scene from the Hangover 4. I went out last night, got drunk and woke up with two little statues in my bed and a tattoo on my arse,” he began.

“You must be sick of me banging on about this but THANK YOU!! I’m still on a cloud and I don’t want to get off. Last night was quite simply the best night of my media life.

“I can’t thank you enough for watching over the years, for hopefully enjoying over the years and for voting. It’s so surreal and I’m incredibly honoured. Last week I was so convinced that I wasn’t going to win that I said if I DID win I’d get the initials of the other nominees tattooed on my arse.

“So it happened live on @morningshowon7 under the inappropriately watchful eyes of @kyliegillies . Thanks Josh and Zac @bondiink666 for helping with this ridiculous idea .. Thank you my Insta peeps for my Logies and my tattoo xx.”

Emdur’s dedicated fans wasted no time in congratulating the beloved host on his “long overdue” victory, highlighting how eagerly they had anticipated this well-deserved win.

“Well done legend,” one wrote.

“Come Laz well deserved and long overdue.”

“Love you Laz! Unforgettable moment and speech,” commented another.

“You are an all round legend Larry! So happy for you.”

It wasn’t just a momentous night for Emdur, beloved actress Rebecca Gibney also had a big evening after she was inducted into the Logies Hall of Fame.

Gibney was met with a standing ovation when the Packed to the Rafters star became the fourth woman inducted into the Hall of Fame, alongside Noni Hazlehurst, Kerri-Anne Kennerley and Ruth Cracknell.

After taking the stage and accepting the coveted honour, Gibney delivered an emotional acceptance speech in which she reflected on her incredible career.

“I’m so overwhelmed,” she began.

“Thank you so much. I’ve got a speech. I don’t know if I can get through it. Just bear with me. I don’t know if I can do it in 30 seconds. Thank you so much to TV Week for this incredible honour.

“If someone had told 16-year-old me who suffered crippling anxiety and severe body dysmorphia that one day I would be standing on the stage with this award, she wouldn’t have believed it.”

Gibney went on to express profound gratitude to her friends, family, and colleagues, recounting the many shared moments and collaborations that shaped her illustrious career before wrapping up with a touching reflection on her momentous achievement.

“I have been so fortunate to have been guided and supported by some incredible visionary women on this journey,” she said.

“From my mother, to my first agent, to the many female producers, directors, fellow actors and crew who have encouraged me behind the scenes, and I am very proud to be one of four women to have ever been inducted into the Hall of Fame.

“But I know that there are many more to come. So thank you so much. Thank you.”
