“For me it’s cheaper, faster, more convenient…”

The Gold Senior/Pensioner Opal card has been available now for over 6 months. So is it worth making the switch? We asked three Gold Senior/Pensioner Opal card customers about their experience travelling with Opal.

Was it simple to apply for the Gold Opal card?

Sure. I ordered mine online. It didn’t take as long as I thought it might. Just a few minutes and I was done. David W.

Yes, once I decided it was time to switch, it was easy. I phoned Opal Customer Care and ordered mine over the phone. Jane B.

I was still travelling with PET when I saw a kiosk at Westfield and got talking to the staff there. They helped me order and my Gold Opal card arrived in the post a few days later. Kate M.

Has Opal made travelling easier?

I used to mix up my tickets and there have been times I’ve accidentally thrown out one that I haven’t used and kept the expired one. My Gold Opal card makes it a lot easier to travel. David W.

Yes, definitely. No more thinking about buying a ticket and having the correct change. I just keep my Gold Opal card with me and off I go. Jane B.

I usually only make short journeys in my area. Most weeks I also get several free trips, which I love. I think it’s made getting around easier. Kate M.

Does travelling with Opal save you time and money?

Saving money? A little. Saving time? A lot. Kate M.

For me it’s cheaper, faster and more convenient. I love it. David W.

I think it’s easy to see Opal is making a difference for everyone. Ticket queues – not that I’m in them anymore – have dwindled remarkably. Jane B.

What do you think of Opal’s customer service?

When I ordered my Opal card over the phone I thought they were great. Kate M.

I’ve never needed to call. David W

Whenever I’ve had a question about Opal I’ve been able to contact Opal Customer Care. They’ve made switching from paper tickets so much easier. Jane B.
