Four children, aged between 11 and 15, charged over Big Brother house fire

Four children have been charged over a fire that completely destroyed the former Big Brother house at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast.

The children, aged between 11 and 15, were charged with arson, while two additional nine-year-olds assisted police with their inquiries and were released.

The blaze broke out at around 2.15pm at the Foxwell Road property on Saturday, sending thick black smoke into the air.

Police allege the group entered the unoccupied house and deliberately started the fire, which completely destroyed the house.

The children were seen by witnesses running towards Railway Road where they were located by police and arrested.

“Police have dealt with six children after they allegedly set fire to a house in Coomera this afternoon,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

“Four children aged between 11 and 15 have been charged with arson and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act. Two nine-year-old’s assisted police with their inquiries and were released.”
