Fans have rushed to offer their support and well wishes to Queen guitarist Brian May after he revealed that he had suffered a “minor stroke”, which led to a temporary loss of control in his arm.

May shared the news of his health scare on social media, revealing that he experienced the stroke a week earlier but initially chose to keep the news private.

Although the announcement may have surprised fans, May reassured them that he is on the path to recovery.

“I’m here to bring you first of all some good news, I think, good news is that I can play guitar after the events of the last few days,” he began.

“And I say this because it was in some doubt because that little health hiccup that I mentioned, happened about a week ago, and what they called it was a minor stroke and all of a sudden, out of the blue, I didn’t have any control over this arm.

“I didn’t want to say anything at the time because I didn’t want anything surrounding.

“I really don’t want sympathy. Please don’t do that because it will clutter up my inbox and I hate that.”

While the megastar is now doing “OK”, he remains limited in what he can do as he continues his recovery.

“Just doing what I’m told, which is basically nothing. I’m grounded,” he said.

“I’m not allowed to go out, I’m not allowed to drive, not allowed to get on a plane, not allowed to raise the heart rate too high.”

Following May’s announcement, fans wasted no time in rallying around the legendary musician, offering their support and well wishes.

“Oh my goodness – I gasped out loud when you said what had happened to you. I’m so relieved you’re making a good recovery and resting, which is always key to getting back to full health especially for someone as busy and active as you. Take care dear Bri – sending you a big (but gentle!) hug. xx,” one said.

“I’m so glad that you are ok Sir Bri! I was so worried about you! Sending you healing vibes and lots of love!!”

“Please, take care of your health, that’s the most important thing now! God bless You, My dear Prince!” commented another.

“Wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery after your health scare, dear Sir Bri. Glad to hear that you are feeling better!”

It’s not the first time May has shocked fans with a health scare, the 77-year-old previously revealed that he “could have died” after being rushed to hospital following a heart attack in 2020.

In an announcement to fans at the time, May revealed that his doctor drove him to the hospital after he started feeling the symptoms of a heart attack.

“But I turned out to have three arteries that were congested and in danger of blocking the supply of blood to my heart,” he said.

May said he found the experience shocking because he thought he was “a very healthy guy”.

“Nothing could tell me that I was about to be in real, real trouble, because I could have died from that, from the blockages that were there,” he said.
