‘Together for the first time’: David Koch’s adorable reunion with grandchildren after two years

Sunrise host David “Kochie” Koch has delighted fans with a touching photo of his reunion with his eight grandchildren,  following a two year separation due to Western Australia’s hard border.

Kochie took to Instagram to share the heartwarming family portrait alongside his wife, Libby.

“Back on deck @sunriseon7 tomorrow after the perfect Easter break,” he wrote.

“All 8 grandkids together for the first time… the WA mob hadn’t been back for 2 years. The love between cousins is so special.”

Fans of the popular Sunrise host were quick to express their happiness over Kochie’s long-awaited reunion.

“Great pic Kochmeister! See you at Currumbin tomorrow,” Sunrise co-host Natalie Barr wrote.

“Almost a footy team there Kochie.”

“Gorgeous family have missed you,” another fan commented.

“Enjoy. Just spent the weekend with our grandkids. It is the BEST!”

It’s not the first time Kochie has taken to social media to share a touching moment with his grandchildren.

In November 2021, he announced the arrival of his seventh grandchild after meeting the newborn for the first time.

Kochie took to social media to share the happy news, posting several adorable photos of his granddaughter, Florence May Brown.

“Welcome to the family Florence May Brown, 52cm, 3.6kg, grandchild #7, @pafc member #1202182,” he wrote.

“You’re a very lucky girl having incredible parents in Sam and Toby and such loving big sisters and brother… Matilda, Lila and Oscar.”

In December 2020 he finally met his sixth grandchild, Ella, for the first time following a painful six month wait again due to WA’s Covid-19 restrictions, at the time.

Kochie posted photos of the emotional reunion with his Perth based family to Instagram alongside the caption: “When Poppy met Ella. 8 months ago Ella was born in Perth.”

“Last night she came home for Christmas with Brie, Jax and Teddy. CJ follows on Saturday. And just like the movie it was love at first sight,” he wrote.
