Jackie Stallone, the famous mother of Rocky star Sylvester Stallone, has reportedly passed away at the age of 98, according to multiple reports out of the US.
US showbiz site TMZ first reported the news on Tuesday, however the circumstances surrounding the famed astrologer’s death are still unclear. She is survived by her husband Stephen Marcus Levine, two sons Sly, 74, and singer Frank Stallone, 70. However her daughter Toni D’Alto sadly passed away in 2012.
Jackie enjoyed a career as an astrologer and is credited with coining the phrase ‘rumpology’ which refers to reading other parts of the anatomy, specifically the buttocks, in a manner similar to palm readings. She is also renowned for being a former dancer and even worked as a women’s wrestling promoter.
In recent years she also enjoyed a resurgence in popularity and established herself as a star in her own right, having appeared on reality TV shows such as Celebrity Big Brother in the United Kingdom, where she clashed with former daughter-in-law Brigitte Nielsen, who was also a contestant. She was also known for her penchant for plastic surgery.
Despite being in her 90s, Jackie regularly shared videos of herself dancing or doing workouts on her Instagram account. Her last post was eight weeks ago and was a throwback photo of Sylvester with his former pet dog Butkus.
Following the news, which the Stallone family are yet to confirm, many fans took to Instagram to leave messages of condolence and pay tribute to the matriarch.
One wrote: “Rip Jackie you lived the life of 10 women!! Bold unabashed fearless.” Another said: “RIP Mrs Stallone.”
While another commented: “We all loved and enjoyed you. Thank you for the smiles you gave us. Thanks for being the mom you were to your children. You will be missed by millions.”
