It’s hard not to forget your first kiss, and Australia actor Hugh Jackman, who’s currently in hotel quarantine in Sydney, certainly hasn’t.

The 52-year-old, who’s been married to Australian actress Deborra Lee Furness for 25 years now, was asked about his first kiss during an Instagram Q&A on Tuesday, and the Wolverine star didn’t hold back on the details!

“Do I remember my first kiss?” Hugh can be heard saying in a video shared to his Instagram page. “Of course, who doesn’t?

“Sarah Dowsett. I have, by the way, met up with her about a year ago. So apologies Sarah for mentioning this.”

The actor went on to say that he made the “classic rookie error” of telling all his friends that he made plans with Sarah after school to do the deed.

“I walk off, thinking we’re alone, and as we are about to go in for the kiss about 20 of my friends jumped out,” he recalled. They chased us through the bush. Finally, after they left, we had our first kiss.”

He continued: “I went to an all-boys school and she went to an all-girls school and we met there every day for a month.”

Fans of Hugh’s were quick to share their own first-kiss experiences, with one writing: “I do remember my first kiss and it was horrible!” Another said: “Yes, it was terrible and funny.”

A third wrote: “First grade, his name was Terry. I wrote him a note ‘before’ the big moment: Dear Terry, do you love me? Yes or no. If you check no, you will die… We’re still friends some 55 years later I still have the note… our moms were friends, had a good laugh and mom kept the note.”

Hugh is in Sydney serving out his mandatory 14 days of hotel quarantine after flying to Australia from New York City last week. The actor and his wife and their two adopted children live between America and Australia, with the pair owning a penthouse suite in New York City and a property in Bondi, Sydney.

Can you remember your first kiss? It’s a magical moment in most people’s lives, and one that imprints itself, sealed forever in that little bank of particularly special memories.

Starts at 60 readers previously shared their own first-kiss stories, with Sandra from Western Australia, recalling: “His name was Eric and he was in my class at school. He’d asked me to go to the cinema with him that Saturday evening, and I just knew that Saturday was going to be ‘the night’.”
