Robert Irwin had the whole crowd in tears of laughter as he brought an array of very interesting animals to The Tonight Show on Wednesday night.

The 15-year-old captivated the audience and had host Jimmy Fallon feeling a little uncomfortable when he forced him to get up close and personal with a sugar glider, peppered cockroaches, African serval kittens and even a camel onto the American talk show.

Steve Irwin’s son, who has appeared on the show several times, presented the host with the animals one by one, each time explaining a little bit about them.

The sugar glider was up first, and although not a frightening looking animal, Fallon appeared slightly uneasy as the cute creature escaped the grip or Robert several times and scurried along the desk.

“He’s a slippery little guy isn’t he,” Robert laughed as he grabbed the sugar glider. To which Fallon nervously replied: “Yeah, you don’t want him loose here”.

Next came the cockroaches, which Robert grabbed without a hint of disgust or fear. The same can’t be said for Fallon who desperately tried to back away when the young wildlife warrior tried to place them on him.

“I don’t want to do it,” Fallon said as Robert attempted to move the insects closer. “I’m just going to have them go down your shirt.”

The cockroaches proceeded to move down Robert’s back and along the desk, as Fallon tried as hard as he could to avoid them coming even an inch within his reach. All the while the crowd clapping and laughing, clearly enjoying the hilarious events unfolding before their eyes.

At one point Robert made Fallon to lie down on his back with his eyes closed and wait for a “surprise”. Fallon did as he’s told, nervously of course.

“They’ve got an amazing technique of hunting,” Robert explained as he placed some serval kittens on his belly. “They’ll jump up into the air and they can actually kill an animal way bigger than themselves by grabbing it on the neck. They just rip the neck.”

Fallon of course, seemed quite frightened by the fact some quite dangerous animals, although babies, were running around his head.

However, Robert saved the best to last — an absolutely adorable baby camel named Wednesday. Fallon seemed a lot happier with this friendly animal, which even gave him a big slobbery kiss all over his face.

“Oh my God, I just made out with a camel, this is unreal,” he laughed.

A video of the show, which has since been shared on YouTube, received a flurry of comments from fans who were quick to compliment Robert on his friendly personality.

“I say it every time Robert is on the show but, he is precious and wonderful and a joy to watch,” one person wrote.

“I absolutely LOVE when Robert is on the show. He reminds me so much of his dad, it’s a little scary. It isn’t every day you see a 15 year old act as mature and respectful as Robert. I love it!” another added.

While a third said: “Robert is just as engaging and charming as his dad. Steve’s legacy is being handled so perfectly”.
