
The 19-year-old son of Only Fools and Horses actor Nicholas Lyndhurst has died after a short illness, The Guardian reports. The teenager was best know for starring as Ollie Coulton in the popular comedy show So Awkward.
In a statement, his father Nicholas said: “Lucy and I are utterly grief stricken and respectfully request privacy.”
Many people have since taken to social media to express condolences. English actor John Challis wrote on Twitter: “The saddest news of all today. The death of Archie Lyndhurst, just starting out on his chosen career in acting. My heart aches for Nick and Lucy. They could not have loved him more.”

Meanwhile, one fan wrote: “I’ve watched So Awkward for years and it came as a shock to find out Archie Lyndhurst has passed away. RIP Archie.”
Another added: “Rip Archie Lyndhurst. I’m in so much shock. u made watching so awkward for me so enjoyable, thank you. rest easy. my thoughts go out to his family and friends including Nicholas & Lucy.”
Lyndhurst famously starred alongside David Jason in the long-running BBC series Only Fools and Horses, playing Del Boy’s younger brother Rodney Trotter.
