The Project host Lisa Wilkinson jokingly took an ultimate stab at her former co-host Karl Stefanovic in an epic social media conversation on Wednesday.
Taking to Twitter in the late hours of the night, the 59-year-old came out all guns blazing as she referenced her old Today show colleague’s infamous “drunk” broadcast the morning after the Logies.
In 2009, Stefanovic, who left the morning program late last year, appeared on the Channel Nine show appearing to still be recovering from a night of drinking. Not at all keeping with the usual conversation tone, he proceeded to tell Wilkinson how pretty she looked the night before at the Logies. Two years later he received the coveted Gold Logie.
While much time has passed since the incident, it appears Wilkinson hasn’t forgotten the antics of that day, bringing it up on Twitter when discussing the upcoming awards.
In response to a number of tweets from TV personalities about who would take home the win in July, Wilkinson jumped in writing: “You’re missing the point the lot of you. If you really want the Gold, just drink ALOT, then come on air with me, tell me how beautiful I am, and I’ll nurse you through it all. It’s worked before”.

This prompted a number of other television personalities to add their two cents to the discussion. Of those was Australian comedian Tom Gleeson who went along with Wilkinson’s joke, claiming her idea sadly didn’t land him an award.
Alongside a photo of himself with both Wilkinson and Stefanovic, the 44-year-old replied: “Didn’t work for me. I drank ALOT. Got this photo. Then forgot to go on air”.

Meanwhile, fellow The Project host Peter Helliar couldn’t hold back either, joking it was him who she was talking about.
“Are you referring to last Monday’s @theprojecttv Wilkinson??” he questioned. “I told you I hadn’t drunk THAT much at lunch but I was on antibiotics.”

This was followed by a comment from The Project show itself, which weighed in on the hilarious Twitter discussion that garnered much attention from the social media world.
“I know I’m late to the fight but I’m also up for a Logie… I recognise that as a TV show my existence is mostly conceptual, but once I work out where my fists are, I am willing to deck you all,” the reply read.
Other Aussies following the convo were clearly amused by the barrage of comments, claiming how hilarious the chat had become.
“Lol (laugh out loud) you win the internet,” one person commented on the Twitter post.
Another added: “Omg now THIS is a damn good response!”
