The Duchess of Cambridge’s younger brother James Middleton has secretly tied the know with his long-term fiancee Alizee Thevenet. The pair, who have dated since 2018, had a low key wedding in the French village of Bormes-les-Mimosas on Saturday.

The 34-year-old announced the happy news via his personal Instagram account on Sunday. “Mr & Mrs Middleton,” James wrote, alongside a close-up pic of the pair. “Yesterday I married the love of my life surrounded by family, friends and of course a few dogs in the beautiful village or Bormes-les-Mimosas. Words cannot describe how happy I am.”

In the sweet selfie, the couple, both dressed in white, can be seen smiling widely at the camera. One of their dogs are also pictured in the background.

People were quick to congratulate them, with Princess Beatrice’s husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi writing: “So so happy for you both.”

Another Instagram user wrote: “This is wonderful! Congratulations and best wishes to you both!” And a third said: “Huge congratulations! So very happy for you both. Also love the doggy photobomb.”

James and Alizee announced their engagement on October 6, 2019. At the time, the couple had only been dating for around 15 months.

In a post shared on Instagram, Catherine’s younger brother wrote: “She said OUI, Our secret is out but we couldn’t be happier to share the news.”

James paired the announcement with a sweet photo of the two cuddling in together and smiling broadly at the camera. On Alizee finger was a gorgeous sapphire ring glimmering in the light. Behind them was the beautiful scenery of the Lake District, a mountainous region in the North West England famous for its lakes, forests and mountains.
