‘Reckon I’m on the couch again!’ Karl shares sweet new snap of baby Harper

It’s no secret that new parents get little to no sleep, but Karl Stefanovic might be struggling to sleep for different reasons this week as he revealed he’s been demoted to the couch after giving up his spot in the bed for his mother-in-law.

The Today show host shared a cute new photo of his one-month-old daughter Harper May on Instagram on Saturday, with new mum Jasmine Yarbough and her mother Cheryl visible in the background. As adorable baby Harper snoozes in her crib, Karl’s fashion designer wife can be seen lying in bed next to her mother, with both women beaming.

“Reckon I’m on the couch tonight. Again,” Karl wrote alongside the image.

Many fans commented on the photo and joked that Karl should enjoy the rest, with one writing: “At least you won’t get woken up in the night wooo go for gold.”

Another commented: “LOL my hubby is still on couch .. our youngest is almost 3 Hahaha good luck Karl.”

While others advised the father of four to enjoy every moment with his newborn daughter. One person wrote: “The days go slow but the years go fast. Drink in EVERY moment.”

The news of Harper’s birth was announced on the Today show by Karl’s colleague, Richard Wilkins. Richard confirmed that Harper weighed 2.9kg and was born just after midday on Friday, May 1.

“Harper and Jasmine are doing well and dad had a great night’s sleep,” Karl told Today. “I am in awe. Harper is absolutely perfect.”

The Today show also uploaded an adorable image onto their Instagram page, writing: “Karl Stefanovic and wife Jasmine Yarbrough have welcomed the arrival of a baby girl.”
