After a rough few weeks of mourning the loss of his beloved dog Dali, Hugh Jackman is finding comfort from another furry family member.

On Wednesday, August 17, the 53-year-old Australian actor took to social media to share an adorable snap of himself with his other dog, Allegra.

“Allegra is getting and giving a lot of love these days,” he captioned the photo.

Fans of the Greatest Showman star quickly flooded his comment section to pay their respects and to share words of comfort.

“Ohhh lovely Allegra. I bet she misses her brother a lot!! But happy she is getting all the love she deserves,” one user penned.

“Of course…… she knows that’s what you need… and she needs you too… you both miss Dali soo much. I’m glad you’ve got each other to help you heal.”

“Hope Allegra is doing okay. Pets grieve too. Sending you love xxx.”

“I’m still so heartbroken for you on your loss of Dali. I’m glad you have Allegra to snuggle with when you need it. I’m sure she misses Dali as much as you and your family do. Huge hugs. Glad to still see that smile on your face. We all worry about you,” another wrote.

Earlier this month Jackman faced heartbreak after his lovable French bulldog, Dali, passed away just before his 12th birthday.

“Dali, our beloved Frenchie, passed away last night. He would’ve been 12 next month … which I’m told is a long life for this breed,” he wrote in an Instagram post.

“I always, always called him the ROCKSTAR. Because he was!”

Jackman talked about Dali’s “good life” and said he was a dog who marched to “the beat of his own drum” and “was beloved by the whole world.”

“We will miss him but know he’s howling in heaven, ruling the roost and enjoying the all you can eat buffet,” he continued. “RIP Dali Rockstar Jackman. We love you.”

Jackman adopted Dali back in 2010 and since then the pooch has featured regularly alongside the star on his social media feed.

In one post from May 2021, Jackman had previously joked that while Dali may be a stubborn dog, he was loved by everyone in the family.

“When Dali joined our family, we had a trainer come to the apartment. He walked in and said “Oh you have a Frenchie .. I’m not going to waste my time or take your money,'” he had written.

“We love Dali. Trained or not.”

Dali’s death isn’t the only tragedy the Jackman family have experienced. Last September the X-Men actor announced that his father, Christopher John Jackman, “peacefully passed away” during the early hours of Father’s Day.
