The queen of fitness herself, Jane Fonda, has spoken out on why working out in your senior years is great for your love life and overall happiness.

Fonda’s rise to fame was heavily attached to her popular and sexy workout videos released in the ’70s.

Speaking to Vogue magazine, the actress said keeping fit is a key element to sex in your older years.

“You have to be able to, you know, make love,” she said.

“I don’t remember much [about that], but do I remember you need flexibility!”

The 85-year-old activist highlighted the fact that it’s never too late to start working out, saying she didn’t discover the benefits of keeping fit until late in her 30s.

“It wasn’t until my late 30s [or] early 40s that I started to actually become active and life before I was active, it wasn’t nearly as good as when I started to move,” she said.

“I come from a long line of really depressed people, and the best way to fight depression is to keep moving.”

The Grace & Frankie star didn’t let her recent diagnosis of non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma stop her from doing her iconic workout every day to keep her strength up to continue her independence.

“You’ve got to stay strong,” she said.

“I have a grandson who is three years old, and I can still pick him up. I mean, I have to bend my knees and, you know, it takes a long time to get him up there, but I can still pick him up. You want to be able to carry your own bags.”

On December 15, 2022, Fonda told her beloved fans that she had gone into remission while thanking her supporters for all the “good wishes” she received, saying it was the “BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER!!!”

“Last week I was told by my oncologist that my cancer is in remission and I can discontinue chemo. I am feeling so blessed, so fortunate. I thank all of you who prayed and sent good thoughts my way,” she said at the time.

“I am confident that it played a role in the good news. I’m especially happy because while my first 4 chemo treatments were rather easy for me, only a few days of being tired, the last chemo session was rough and lasted 2 weeks making it hard to accomplish much of anything.

“Thanks for sending good wishes my way.”
