If anyone was going to play Morticia Addams in a remake of The Addams Family, we think Catherine Zeta-Jones is the perfect fit, and if anyone was going to direct the remake, quirky horror genius Tim Burton is equally as perfect.

Luckily for us, Netflix has announced a new spin-off of the 1960s original, titled Wednesday starring the Welsh actress, and in a new pic, the 51-year-old channelled her new character looking every bit as sexy and creepy as the original.

Catherine shared the sizzling snap on her Instagram on Wednesday, stunning fans with the incredible resemblance to the original Morticia played by Carolyn Jones in the ’60s.

Showing off her incredible figure, the actress donned a figure-hugging full-length black dress, styled with her signature black locks and a dash of red lipstick and nail polish.

In the caption, the actress shared her excitement over the new role which is rumoured to air on Netflix sometime next year.

“It’s ‘WEDNESDAY!’,” she wrote.

“I have channelled Morticia Addams many times in my life, and now I get to play her directed by the incomparable Tim Burton in Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’.

“I am so excited! Reuniting with Luis Guzman (my nemesis in the movie ‘Traffic’) as Gomez, and the fabulous Jenna Ortega in the title role of Wednesday Addams. Can’t wait.”

The Netflix spin-off series will be about Wednesday Addams, the iconic character played by Christina Ricci in the 1991 film The Addams Family. It was announced earlier this year, with Catherine confirming she would be playing the matriarch mother alongside Jenna as Wednesday and ‘Narcos’ star Luis as Morticia’s husband Gomez Addams.

The release date hasn’t been confirmed, however there are fitting rumours it may be set to come out in October 2022, just in time for Halloween.
