Patti Newton has taken to social media to let fans know that her husband Bert has been in hospital, sharing a close-up picture of the 82-year-old in a hospital bed. Patti, 75, didn’t explain why Bert was in hospital but reassured fans he’s “all good”, before making reference to the Elvis Presley song ‘Got a Lot o’ Livin’ to Do!’.
“Berts [sic] been in hospital, all good,” she captioned the post. “He’s got a Lot of Living to Do.”
In the picture, Bert appears to be lying down in a hospital bed as he holds onto his face mask. He is also sporting a hospital gown and disposable hairnet.

Fans were quick to comment on the picture and wish Bert a speedy recovery. “Hope Bert is ok, sending much love your way,” one wrote.
Another added: “Best wishes, hope you’re home with your beautiful family very soon.” While a third wrote: “Speedy recovery – we love you.”
This isn’t Bert’s first health scare. Back in 2017, the television personality was rushed to hospital after getting pneumonia. “Pneumonia is not a very nice thing,” Bert said at the time, explaining it was the third time he’d had it. The renowned former host of Good Morning Australia also underwent major heart surgery in 2012.
Meanwhile, in October 2017, Patti was also rushed to hospital after sustaining a head injury from a fall. At the time, the 75-year-old shared a photo of herself on Instagram, holding up her fingers in a peace symbol while lying in a neck brace in her hospital bed.
“Had a fall and hit my head,” she captioned the image. “I’m so Lucky after Scans no permanent damage, just a sore and glued head. Thank you to the #frankstonhospital they were just wonderful to us xx.”
