After this year’s winner was crowned, a poignant montage showcasing some of Zonfrillo’s most unforgettable moments from the show was played that resonated deeply with viewers across the country.
The montage concluded with Zonfrillo addressing the contestants, bidding them farewell for the final time.
“For the last time, go home, make yourselves a cup of tea, put your feet up and be kind to each other, we’ll see you back here tomorrow,” he said.
A photograph featuring the entire crew was then shown on the screen, accompanied by the phrase “Give it up for Jock Zonfrillo”, his renowned farewell whenever someone departed the MasterChef kitchen.
Fans were deeply moved by the heartfelt tribute to Zonfrillo, many expressing their admiration for the beloved chef and praising the network for the fitting farewell.
Fifteen minutes later, that tribute to Jock has me absolutely bawling. Absolutely beautiful… and then the “give it up for Jock Zonfrillo” at the end, just in case anyone wasn’t crying already. #MasterchefAU

Watching #MasterChefAU it’s the last time we’ll see #JockZonfrillo on our screens. It’s a been surreal watching this season. He’s been such a great mentor for the contestants, a champion of mental health and promoting indigenous cuisine.

I commend MasterChef & Network 10 for the respectful way they handled the tribute to Jock last night. In fact you have all treated his tragic death with nothing but respect. So often media revel in reporting a celeb death but u didn’t. Thank you!— wendyemily (@wendyemily2) July 16, 2023
Friends, family, and renowned chefs George Calombaris, Shannon Bennett, and Colin Fassnidge gathered earlier this year to bid farewell to the beloved MasterChef judge in an intimate funeral.
MasterChef co-judges Andy Allen and Melissa Leong, along with tennis icon Dylan Alcott, were also in attendance.
Renowned Australian singer Jimmy Barnes delivered a heartfelt rendition of Amazing Grace as the ceremony neared its end. Zonfrillo’s coffin was adorned with white roses and orchids, draped with a Royal Banner of Scotland in honour of his heritage.
