A British tourist has become an internet sensation after she recorded a hilarious video, warning other travellers against the dangers of cut-price Aussie retailer Kmart.
The woman, who goes by the name ‘Jordanagrace1’ on the popular social media platform, shared the video titled “Things they should tell you before moving to Australia” this week and it has already been viewed more than 230,000 times.
“They warn you about the spiders and the snakes and the blistering heat … but they don’t prepare you for Kmart!” Jordana, who describes herself as a comedy writer says in the hilarious video. She can then be seen entering the store and browsing the shelves, picking up assorted items including faux plants, ceramic dishes and pillows.
Rap song ‘Candy Shop’ by 50 Cent then plays, as Jordana sings: “I take you to Kmart shop, we’re going to buy lots and lots. My bank account keeps screaming, No!”

The video quickly went viral on the hugely popular social media platform, which allows users to share videos, and many commented to share their own experience of succumbing to the dangers of cheap prices, stylish clothes and trendy homewares at their local Kmart.
One person commented on the video: “You don’t go to Kmart knowing what you want, you go to Kmart and let Kmart tell you what you want.” Another wrote: “My husband screams NO KMART when I leave the house! But it’s like he’s cheering me on to go… so I go! While another said: “I went into a Kmart once for a belt. I walked out with the belt, two pairs of shoes and three shirts.”
While others suggested the reason travellers aren’t warned about Kmart is so the store – and its reduced prices – remain a well-kept Aussie secret. One person joked: “Shhh Kmart is a secret!” Another said: “No don’t give Kmart away.”
