For years, slow cookers have been heralded as the home cook’s best friend, simplifying meal times and removing the need to use an array of pots and pans to produce one dish. Now though, Aussies are going mad for another kitchen appliance as the air fryer has enjoyed a boom in popularity.

While air fryers have been around for years, they have soared in popularity in recent months thanks to the sale of affordable options in high street stores such as Kmart, Big W and more. They can be used to cook a range of foods and work by circulating hot air around the food to achieve a crunchy, crispy exterior, without the need to use an excess of oil.

Australia’s obsession is down, in part, to social media, with platforms such as Facebook and Instagram now flooded with delicious looking recipes and hacks – such as this pork crackling recipe – and specialised groups have even been set up to support the craze and allow people to swap ideas and advice. However, with Kmart’s affordable option selling out almost as soon as it hits the shelves, and other options wielding a hefty price tag, many people have been left struggling to get their hands on the newfangled appliance.

But if you’re one of those yet to jump on the bandwagon, fear not as consumer website Canstar Blue has perused the End of Financial Year (EOFY) sales to find the best deals on air fryers.
