ABBA sends fans into a frenzy with new announcement

They last performed together 35 years ago, but iconic 1970s band ABBA is reuniting for a special project.

Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad who make up the Swedish pop group are set to team with American Idol creator Simon Fuller for a 2018 reunion.

It is being hailed as a “new entertainment experience” and will involve elements of 3D virtual reality and artificial intelligence according to the BBC.

Lyngstad says fans often ask her about an ABBA reunion and hopes this news will be exciting for them.

“I hope this new ABBA creation will excite them as much as it excites me,” she says.

If the messages from fans across social media are anything to go by, there is definitely excitement.

It’s hoped the project will allow fans old and new to see, hear and feel the band “in a way previous unimagined” a press release says.

With hits like Waterloo, Dancing Queen, Fernando, Mamma Mia and Super Trouper it’s hard to say what songs you’ll be looking forward to the most.

Are you an ABBA fan? What’s your favourite ABBA song? Will you want to see this tour?
