‘I’m having an affair with my best friend’s hot 64-year-old gran’

A man has admitted he’s ready to give up his family and friends to pursue a secret affair with his best friend’s grandmother – despite there being a 35 year age gap between them.

Writing to The Sun‘s advice column ‘Dear Deidre’, the 29-year-old admitted he can’t see a clear and easy future for their relationship, but feels unable to end it as they’ve now “fallen in love”. So much so, he ended his six-year relationship with his girlfriend to pursue it.

“I met this mate when he was dating my girlfriend’s best friend and we got on well,” he explained. “Then I met his gran at a family party at his house and I couldn’t believe it when she told me she was 64 because she looked so much younger.”

When she invited him to visit for coffee any time, he couldn’t refuse, and they began to grow closer as he enjoyed lengthy evening visits to her home.

“I danced with her at his sister’s birthday party and my friend even said, ‘can you stop acting so happy around my nan as it’s freaking me out’?” He admitted.

While he insisted he tried to keep his feelings to himself and back off, she eventually told him the feelings were mutual – but she was worried about upsetting her grandson.

Despite their concerns, he said the romance escalated when he began imagining her while he was intimate with his girlfriend at the time, and it prompted him to pursue her once and for all.

“The first time we had sex it was so special I thought I would melt,” he said. “On a walk by the river one day I plucked up the courage to say the words, ‘I love you’, and she said she loved me too.”

He admitted he’s aware it will drive his parents and friends away, but can’t let her go.

While he begged for advice, he got a fairly brutal response from ‘Deidre’, who urged him to end the “fantasy” immediately as it’s unlikely they could enjoy a happy future together.

While she insisted it’s not the age gap that’s the real issue, she instead pointed out that they’re at very different life stages.
