‘I thought it was Maccas!’ Mum’s horror at son’s rude school t-shirt

A mother has shared her embarrassment after accidentally sending her young son to school in a very rude t-shirt – after he picked it up thinking it had the logo for McDonald’s on the front.

Clueless Shelly McCullar revealed her son Anthony attended a full day at school with a picture of two female legs spread across his front, in the shape of the fast food chain’s famous Golden Arches logo – and only realised once he’d returned home.

To add insult to injury, the motto: “I’m lovin’ it” was emblazoned across the bottom, making poor Anthony the butt of the joke.

Explaining how the epic mistake happened, McCullar, from Texas, US, said she’d been given hand-me-down clothes from a friend, and hadn’t had chance to go through them properly yet.

Sharing a short video of Anthony at home, after spending his day at school in the t-shirt, he appeared embarrassed by the error as he told his mum he’d picked the shirt out of a basket at home, adding: “This was one of the shirts in it, I thought it was like McDonald’s.”

Asked if the teachers had stopped him, he added: “No, they thought it was McDonald’s too.”

McCullar apologised to the school “sincerely” for the error, appearing to signal she hadn’t seen it before he left the house – and only realised what had happened later in the day.

She wrote: “Once again, my sincere apologies to the teachers and staff at Travis Elementary. I promise from now on to monitor what my kids are wearing! I had no idea Anthony wore this to school!!

“Just to clarify, I would never let my kid wear something like this. A friend had given me some hand me down clothes for Anthony. I haven’t had the chance to completely go through them. I will tonight though!! Through my embarrassment, I did lmao!! #ithoughtitwaslikemcdonslds #notthegoldenarches.”

She’s not the first to end up red-faced thanks to a very simple error. A grandma became an internet sensation previously when she made an embarrassing blunder on her grandson’s shark blanket.

While the impressive knitting skills were nothing to turn your nose up at, people across the internet quickly discovered that there was something a little off with the fin on the shark. Complete with a tale, teeth and frightening eyes, the grandmother wanted to ensure the shark looked like the real-deal and decided to add a fin to the blanket. There’s nothing inappropriate about that, right?

Wrong! When placed over the little boy, people across the internet were quick to point out that the fin didn’t look like a fin at all, but rather something a little more R-rated. We’ll leave it up to you to decide what it actually looks like.

Needless to say, people online had a field day and the blanket quickly became a viral hit. One person left a comment saying: “He’ll be embarrassed about it for a minute, then it’ll become a conversational piece for the next ten years.” Another comment read: “Isn’t the fin facing backwards anyway? Seems fishy.” A third added: “Fin envy anybody?”
