Tuna is one of those versatile fishes that works so well in so many different dishes. Whether it’s grilled and tossed through a salad, pan-fried with a little lemon and served with veggies, or turned into a delicious summer dish of kebabs, like here, it’s hard to go past a good-quality piece of the meat. This recipe makes a lovely light and healthy dish for those wanting something easy and good for you for lunch or dinner. It’s incredibly easy to make, but the end result tastes surprisingly gourmet given the simple list of ingredients. Try serving alongside some grilled corn and a fresh garden salad and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon sweet chilli sauce
  • 2 teaspoons kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
  • 4 (about 180g) tuna steaks, cut into 3cm pieces
  • Olive oil spray

Method

  1. Place lime juice, sweet chilli sauce and kecap manis in a shallow glass or ceramic dish. Stir to combine.
  2. Pierce multiple pieces of tuna onto skewers. Place in lime mixture and turn to coat generously. Cover. Place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to marinate.
  3. Heat large non-stick frying pan over high heat and spray with olive oil. Add skewers to pan and cook, in batches, for 30 seconds each side or until cooked to your liking. Transfer to serving platter.Serve.
