It’s come to our attention that Turkish delight is a somewhat controversial treat, with people either loving or hating it. However, for those who (rightly so) can’t get enough of the sticky, rose water dessert, these delicious biscuits will hit the spot. This cheat’s recipe is so easy to whip up and the end result is a buttery, vanilla-flavoured biscuit dotted with delicious chunks of Turkish delight. Best of all you only need four ingredients and cooking time is less than 15 minutes, so you’ll be pouring yourself and cuppa and tucking into a biccie in no time.

Ingredients

  • 340g bag vanilla cake mix
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 x 55g Turkish delight chocolate bars, chopped

 Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180C. Line four large baking trays with baking paper.
  2. Place cake mix in a bowl. Make a well.
  3. Add egg and oil. Stir well to combine. Stir in Turkish delight.
  4. One by one, roll two level teaspoons of mixture into a ball and place 6cm apart on trays.
  5. Bake biscuits, two trays at at time, swapping position of trays halfway through cooking, for 10 to 12 minutes.
  6. Stand on trays for five minutes.
