The wonderful Maya Angelou, African American poet, author, historian and civil rights activist has died at her home in Winston-Salem, USA, aged 86.

Angelou’s early autobiography “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings” told the story of her life up till about aged 17; it is truly harrowing and inspirational at the same time. Her young life was full of suffering and abuse, leaving her unable to speak.  But when she found her voice, she unceasingly helped many generations to find their own voice, to be the best they could be. 

We are privileged to have had such a wonderful women share her soul with us through her books and poetry.
