Like athletes, singers can be prone to hurting themselves on stage and one of their biggest complaints is something that has sidelined many greats over the years.
Barry Manilow is the latest singer to cancel tour dates over sprained vocal cords.
It’s a common condition that has sidelined most singers over the years, and unfortunately for Manilow its struck him at an unfortunate time.
The 73-year-old singer had been due to perform concerts in Los Angeles and Chicago.
But unfortunately because of his vocal cord sprain, he’s been ordered by the doctors to get some rest.
His management made the announcement on his Facebook page over the weekend.
“We regret to inform you that Barry Manilow’s two concerts scheduled for this week in Los Angeles and Chicago are currently being rescheduled,” his management wrote.
“Barry is on doctors orders to rest due to sprained vocal chords. We are all very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”
It’s an unfortunate issue for the star, who has been buoyed by the support of his fans in recent months after he opened up about his sexuality.
His fans have been quick to wish him well, with the concerts rescheduled to July and August.
