Everyone has those foods that we just cannot resist. It doesn’t matter what diet we are on or how strong our willpower is, we just can’t say no.
These foods often don’t fit into the “healthy” category so they really are indulgences. At the risk of sounding like over-indulged, sugar craving crazies, this week, we’ve listed our five favourite indulgences.
Tell us yours, by numbering them from five to one in the comments below!
5. Iced Vovos
This perfect biscuit is a great Australian treasure. Just thinking about the coconut, the fondant and the raspberry jam makes my mouth water. Growing up, my grandmother would give these to us for afternoon tea and it is a memory I will always adore.
4. Milkybar
When I first tasted a milkybar, I was amazed. I am a chocolate lover (no secrets there) but this flavor of sweet, vanilla chocolate was the next level. Despite not actually containing cocoa butter, you can find it in your confectionary aisle next to the chocolate bars.
3. Hot Chocolate (with marshmallows!)
A steamy, rich, milky hot chocolate is the perfect way to end a long day in winter. It’s like having a seasonal version of my favourite food! There is something special about adding marshmallows, when powerful sweetness offsets the richness of the chocolate.
2. Chomp Bar
The chomp bar has been a true indication of Australian inflation since it was first manufactured. To think that in 1970 a bar was ten cents… This delicious wafer upon caramel, coated in milk chocolate bar is only sold in Australia and the UK and boy are we lucky to have it!
1. Tim Tams
Tim Tams are the ultimate treat. A true Australian icon, this chocolate-coated biscuit has been around since 1964 and they changed our world (I may be being a little dramatic, but I can’t help it… It’s a Tim Tam). The best thing about Tim Tams is that you can conduct a Tim Tam Slam, by biting the diagonally opposite corners off the biscuit, dunking one end into your coffee or hot chocolate, and then drinking through the other end like a straw… The outcome? Simply divine!
So, as you can see, chocolate is the key to the Starts at Sixty office’s heart… But, what about yours? List your five favourite indulgence foods from five to one in the comments below!
