With just four days to go until the fourth season of The Crown premiers on Netflix, fans have been treated to another look of actress Emma Corrin as the late Princess Diana. The Crown’s official Twitter account on Tuesday released a brand-new set of stills for the upcoming season which is set for release this Sunday.

The photographs mimic Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ iconic engagement snaps, with Emma wearing an almost-identical replica of the late royal’s famous blue blazer and skirt. In the images, Emma perfectly captures Princess Diana’s shy expressions which were heavily present in the original photos as she poses alongside her co-star Josh O’Connor who plays Charles.

“The engagement of Charles and Diana,” The Crown’s official Twitter account captioned the post. “A moment that changed everything. The Crown Season Four. Sunday 15th November.”

Fans of the show were quick to comment on the new photos, with the majority unable to contain their excitement for the new season. Twitter user @downtonbbey, wrote: “I can’t wait to see this.”

Meanwhile @sjlil added: “In the process of binge re-watching the entire series, OH MY GOD I CANNOT WAIT FOR SUNDAY!!” And @AuroraEnVerso tweeted: “This looks amazing. Can’t wait to see it!”

The new snaps come one month after Netflix shared a behind-the-scenes image of Emma wearing an almost-identical replica of the late royal’s iconic bridal gown — complete with 25 foot train. The incredible dress was created by costume designer Amy Roberts, in collaboration with David Emmanuel who, along with former wife Elizabeth Emmanuel, was responsible for the Princess of Wales’ show-stopping dress and train.

“Amy wanted to pull in many of the style choices and create the same spirit of David & Elizabeth Emanuel’s original design, but make something new,” A Netflix spokesperson said. “Without access to the original patterns, Amy collaborated with David Emmanuel. He was enormously helpful, talking the design team through the detail of many of the original drawings to help them create this gown for Emma Corrin.”

While Corrin will play Diana in season four an Australian actress will assume the role for the show’s final instalments. In August it was revealed that Elizabeth Debicki had been cast as Princess Diana for seasons five and six. Debicki will join Oscar-nominated Welsh actor Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Imelda Staunton as Her Majesty the Queen and British screen legend Lesley Manville as the monarch’s younger sister Princess Margaret.
