Juggling daily appearances on Studio 10 with bringing up two small boys is undoubtedly a handful, but Sarah Harris has now revealed it led to her suffering a “meltdown” as she worried she was becoming a failure as a mother.

Speaking to WHO magazine, the Channel 10 star, 37, revealed she had been forced to book a last minute holiday with her husband Tom and two sons, to spend some quality time together, after fearing they’d have “nothing to show” for their family life should the worst ever happen.

“You reach that point where you feel like you’re failing at everything and sometimes it all gets too much,” she admitted to the publication. “You think, ‘I’m just failing as a mum at the moment’.”

Recalling hitting rock bottom as the worries got on top of her recently, Harris admitted she felt like both her and her husband were just living to work and pay their mortgage.

“My husband and I are just paying our mortgage, trying to be the best parents we can be,” she added to the mag. “But I had a bit of a meltdown about a month and a half ago. We’re just working so much and I said to Tom, ‘What are we doing? What happens if one of us gets sick or one of us dies tomorrow – what have we got to show for it’?”

They now plan to enjoy a short beach break as a family, with sons Harry, eight months, and Paul, three, joining in the fun. Harris regularly shares photos of her sons on social media, and even took them to work with her previously to meet her Studio 10 colleagues.

Meanwhile, she also shared a stunning photo from the official magazine shoot with WHO accompanying her open interview, showing off her legs in a daring navy thigh-split dress and nude strappy stilettos.

Sitting with her legs outstretched in an old armchair, she flashes her signature smile in the photo with her hair styled in dramatic curls.

She captioned the snap: “Oh here’s me just casually relaxing in a cocktail frock and heels all natural-like for @whomagazine Lol. Thanks to the incredible team who put this tired mama together #smokeandmirrors #precariouslyperched.”

Have you experienced stressed like Sarah after welcoming children and continuing to work? Are holidays as a family important to you too?
