Proving that he’s still standing after all these years, leading English singer, songwriter, composer and pianist Elton John has released a new track from his upcoming album “The Lockdown Sessions”.

The latest number is a collaboration with young singer-songwriter Charlie Puth, entitled ‘After All’. Packed with emotion, the track draws deeply on the close relationship Elton and Charlie have developed since meeting in Los Angeles in March 2020.

The fresh new Elton tune was created with Charlie while they jammed together. The ‘Tiny Dancer’ artist revealed in a statement that he played the electric piano which formed the basis of the song.

Capture the Elton magic, which has seen him become one of the best-selling music artists of all time since launching his first hit single ‘Your Song’ in 1970, Charlie quickly whipped up the lyrics.

Elton has raved about Charlie’s “amazing musical” talent, stating:  “He’s incredibly quick… we just had amazing chemistry in the studio.”

In turn, Charlie has described Elton as “world-class and the true definition of a musical genius.”

“I got to witness that firsthand when we wrote this song together. Being a part of his musical journey is a dream come true,” he said.

‘After All’ is the second single released from the album, with the first a collaborative cover between Elton John and Dua Lipa showcasing four of Elton’s previous hits – a link to this track can be found below. More hits are expected to drop before the full album is released on October 22.

When announcing his new release, Elton said the album would be entirely collaborative hits between himself and other titans of the music industry.

Tracks will feature Stevie Wonder, Eddie Vedder (the frontman for Pearl Jam), Gorillaz, Stevie Nicks, and Brandi Carlile (country singer), as well as newer artists like Dua Lipa, Lil Nas X, and rappers Young Thug and Nicki Minaj.

Elton has also cherry-picked a handful of artists who are still up-and-coming, in a bid to rocket them into the limelight. These fresh artists include the likes of SG Lewis, Rina Sawayama, and Jimmie Allen.

The album will showcase both originals and covers of classic tracks. A cover of the Pet Shop Boys ‘It’s a Sin’ will be one of the numbers on the record, featuring Years & Years alongside Elton. Similarly, a cover of Metallica’s ‘Nothing Else Matters’ recorded with Miley Cyrus will also appear.
