On the 15th April in 1967, this father and daughter duet went to number one on the US Singles chart. It has since gone on to become the first and only instance of a father-daughter number-one song in America . Can you guess what the song was?
The most successful and best known version of the song “Somethin’ Stupid” was issued as a single by Nancy Sinatra & Frank Sinatra and subsequently appeared on Frank’s album The World We Knew. It spent 4 weeks at number one on the Billboard Charts in the US, first hitting this on the 15th April 1967. It also went to number one in the UK in the same year.
The song has been covered many times since the 1967 hit took the world by storm, the most significant of which was British singer Robbie Williams who recorded “Somethin’ Stupid” as a duet in 2001 with Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman.
