Nicole Kidman unrecognisable in latest film role

She’s known for her soft blonde locks and impeccable style on the red carpet, although Australian actress Nicole Kidman is almost recognisable for her latest film character. She takes on a much darker role in the new thriller Destroyer.

Portraying the lead character of LAPD detective Erin Bell, the 51-year-old looks at least 20 years older as she sports a short brown hairstyle, wrinkled skin and dark circles under her eyes. A far cry from Nicole’s usual appearance, the new role sees the mother-of-four firing guns and fighting against gang members in disheveled and baggy clothes as she works to bring down a dangerous gang.

The Eyes Wide Shut star gave fans their first look at the new film and shared a clip on her Instagram page.

Already receiving rave reviews, the much-loved actress has been commended for her ability to take on such varying roles with many fans  taking to social media to express their admiration.

One person wrote: “Can’t wait to see this – another masterpiece by Nicole Kidman….what a powerhouse actress!”

“Wow. You always seem to amaze me, Nicole,” a second added.

A third simply said: “You’re talents are endless.”

Destroyer sees Nicole’s character Erin, delve into her harrowing past, as she works to bring down a gang that she encountered as a young cop. When the leader of the gang remerges many years later, Erin, who is traumatised from her prior experiences, must face terrible memories in order to uncover the gang’s secrets and put an end to their dealings.

Earlier this week, Nicole made a bold statement in hot pink as she hit the red carpet for the premiere of Destroyer, in London.

The actress stunned in the eye-catching power suit, looking every bit the leading lady. Nicole showed off her edgy style in the black tailored suit, which she teamed with a hot-pink silk shirt. Standing tall on the red carpet, the wife of Keith Urban paired the ensemble with black pointed heels, silver drop earrings and natural makeup, which included a touch of blush and a soft pink lip.
