Revealed: ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ showcases star-studded couch critics

Foxtel has announced the highly anticipated A-list celebrity cast of their special episode of Celebrity Gogglebox Australia.

Fans were initially thrilled when the network had revealed Aussie funnyman Hamish Blake and his wife, Zoe Foster-Blake, will be staring in the show’s premiere episode, but now excitement has reached an all-time high as the full cast list has been released. 

This season, fans can expect to see Australian icons such as wildlife warriors the Irwin family and Dave “Hughesy” Hughes settling in front of their telvisions as they take on their new roles as couch critics on Celebrity Gogglebox Australia.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Robert Irwin says they “can’t wait” to be part of the cast.

“…At the day’s end, we love our family time watching TV together. Can’t wait for everyone to get a little look into what a night at the Irwin household looks like!” Robert said. 

Other celebrities curling up on the couch include the best friend duo, Julia Morris and Nazeem Hussain, with Julia returning back on screen after her latest stint hosting I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! 

And the list just keeps delivering; also appearing on the show are foodie icon Matt Preston and actor Lachy Hulme, fashion designer Alex Perry, John Bailey and model Cheyenne Tozzi, and actor pals Celia Pacquola and Luke McGregor. 

It is definitely safe to say this year cast of Celebrity Gogglebox Australia is bigger and better than ever, and while plenty of fans seems to agree, leaving comments on social media like “Awesome line up” and “This is going to be a blast” others seem to hold a different opinion. 

“I think I would rather the original goggle boxers,” one wrote.

“Can guarantee that it won’t be a patch on @thedaltons_au or @lee_and_keith, or any of the @goggleboxau cast….just give us more of the originals please ????” commented another.

For fans not too fond of the celebrity twist, have no fear, Gogglebox has confirmed in a comment left on their Instagram that their “originals aren’t going anywhere, they’ll be back after our celebrity episode”

Celebrity Gogglebox Australia will premiere on Wednesday, March 2, at 7:30 pm on Foxtel and on Thursday, March 3, at 8:30 pm on Network 10.
