TV series watching has become a mainstay of modern culture over the last 20 years in a different way to ever before. A new poll from BBC Culture has revealed the TV shows everyone has loved in the last 22 years.

Since the appearance of box-sets in the late 90s, we’ve all grown hungry for binge-watched series TV, no longer withheld from us week by week to drip us advertising at a maximum level.  Instead, the modern on-demand world of TV has allowed more creative programming to exist and build followings and with that, a list of really great TV shows have come to life.  BBC Culture took a vote on the best TV Series’ this century, releasing the top 100 list this week.

At number one was the crime show The Wire, followed closely by Mad Men.   Then came Breaking Bad and the hysterical British show Fleabag. The Fantasy TV show, Game of Thrones came in in the fifth position.  The selection, coming from the BBC vote was heavily led by British shows.
