It’s no secret marriage is full of little daily challenges, but spare a thought for this group of wives who’ve gotten so sick of their husbands’ annoying habits they’ve taken to venting their frustrations online.

While men often get a bad rap for leaving the toilet seat or ignoring household chores, these women say that while they love their husbands, they’re almost at breaking point over their annoying habits.

The slam session began when one frustrated wife took to online forum Gransnet asking: “What planet do men come from?” The peeved woman said she told her husband she was cleaning the bathroom, to which he replied, “Why?” — a question that left her face-palming her own head.

It didn’t take long for readers to pitch in with their own stories, detailing how their husbands annoy them on a daily basis.

One commentator said her husband is retired and does odd jobs around the house, while she’s at the office. “I wish he wouldn’t,” she explained. “No idea what he does all day, but I can never find anything in the kitchen.”

Another added her husband of 55 years always asks her if she takes sugar in her tea. Disturbingly, one user revealed she once lived with a man who thought giving a plate “a good lick clean” substituted for using detergent and hot water to get it properly washed.

One woman said she’d just dumped her husband after years of inane comments. She wrote: “I call it ‘stating the bleeding obvious’ – pardon my language! ‘It’s dark’, ‘It’s raining’, and how about ‘I need a wee’? They say men never grow up – so true! Glad I’ve just dumped mine!”

Meanwhile one reader asked: “Anyone’s other half actually put his dirty washing by the side of the washing hamper? This is what mine has been known to do… why he can’t pick up the lid I don’t know.”

Another added: “My DH [darling husband], an absolute sweetheart in almost every way, seems to be incapable of closing a door or a drawer. When I mentioned it he said ‘they are closed’ and wouldn’t believe me when I pointed out that it was only because I had done the closing!”

One commentator said her late husband was very good at cleaning the bathroom, however he never wiped the door or mirrored cabinets without being reminded. And one user revealed she bought a dishwasher to reduce mess. She wrote: “I thought a dishwasher was the solution. Pots just pile round it – not in it.”

But, according to one lucky woman, not all men are hopeless. “Mine is cleaning the house as I sit here on the PC! Since he retired he likes to take over all my jobs as, of course, he does them much better than I have ever done! I don’t argue on that one,” she wrote.
