Becoming a grandparent is one of the greatest joys in the world and for legendary performer Barbra Streisand, she can hardly contain her excitement about becoming a grandmother.
The 76-year-old’s stepson Josh Brolin and his wife Kathryn Boyd are expecting a baby later this year and if a recent interview is anything to go by, the ‘Woman in Love’ songstress can hardly wait.
In an interview with SirusXM radio in the United States, 50-year-old Brolin revealed what the pregnancy meant for his famous stepmother. When asked if his parents were excited about becoming grandparents to a little girl, he said it was his stepmother who was the most excited.
“Especially her,” Brolin said. “I’d say especially her. My wife got her a bracelet that said grandma on it and she started crying.”
In all fairness, most people probably shed a tear when they find out they’re going to be grandparents for the first time.

“She’s one of those,” Brolin continued. “It’s annoying but it’s in a really great way.”
The star, who has appeared in an array of blockbuster films including Gangster Squad, Nightwatch and Bed of Roses also gave insight into some of the grandmotherly things Streisand already does.
“There’s emails every day and, ‘hey, I thought of this name. What do you think of that?’ or when can I come over and feel the baby,” he noted.
He said the actress is also following all the latest apps and said she told him she knew when the baby was as big as a banana.
“It’s always weird to me,” he joked. “I don’t want to think of my baby as a banana or any kind of fruit or vegetable.”
Still, he was glad his stepmother was involved.
“But she’s really into it and I love that she’s into it,” he insisted. “It’s like very typical Jewish grandmother who’s like, saturated by this event. It’s awesome.”
The news of Streisand’s grandchild comes less than a year after she announced she was quitting performing for good.
After filming her Barbra: The Music … The Mem’ries .. The Magic! Concert for streaming service Netflix last year, the star hinted she was done performing for fans.

“No, I would never do another show. It’s exhausting,” she told The Associated Press in 2017. “I’m not ever going to sit down and plan another show like I had to do with this one.”
Still, it will allow her to spend some quality time with her granddaughter when she arrives later this year. We bet she’ll be happy to sing a few lullabies for the bub.
