Supermodel Christie Brinkley has penned a heartwarming poem to her daughters on national sibling day.

The 64-year-old, whose famous figure catapulted her to stardom in the 1980s, took to social media on Tuesday, to share a sweet poem about her daughters Alexa Ray Joel, 32, and Sailor Lee Brinkley-Cook, 19.

Proving there’s more to her talent than just her physical attributes, Brinkley poured out her heart to her girls and shared a rather revealing shot from a bikini photoshoot she did with the pair for Sports Illustrated last year.

Taking to Instagram, Brinkley wrote:

“Ones a ‘Betty’ and ones a ‘Veronica’
One plays Piano, and one the harmonica,
One is salt, the other pepper,
One travels light, and ones a schlepper,
One dances in moonlight and one in the Sun
But don’t try to pick your favourite one
Comparisons drive them both totally mad,
They worry the other one will be sad
With all of their hearts they love each other
and I’m so proud to be their mother!”

Making reference to her son, Jack Paris Brinkley Cook, 22, Brinkley added: ” … yes the little poem is by me … and we all love you @jackbrinkleycook.”

Fans were quick to comment with one user saying, “They are blessed to have you as their mom @christiebrinkley love your poem,” while another added, “You are very lucky to have two beautiful daughters as well as a handsome son,” and a third wrote, “I can’t even handle this – darling girls, darling poem.”

Brinkley made a name for herself in the ’80s as one of the most popular bikini models in the world and it doesn’t look like she’s giving up the title anytime soon.

The 64-year-old posed for Sports Illustrated last year with her daughters. At the time, Brinkley told People she was nervous about getting in front of the camera again, but having her daughters there made the whole process much more fun and relaxing.

She added that she felt it was important to get out there and show the world that 60 is not old.

“In a country that’s very ageist, people love to put you in little boxes,” she told the magazine.

“Women feel very limited by their numbers. On a personal level, I thought, if I can pull this off, I think it will help redefine those numbers and remove some of the fear of ageing.”

Brinkley celebrated her 64th birthday earlier this year with a star-studded bash in New York City.
