During a career that spans 50 years, Bette Midler has shown us extraordinary talent and also some extraordinary outfits.

Now, Hollywood legend Midler has put on a stunning display for the opening of New York Restoration Project’s (NYRP) Essex Street Community Garden, which she’s a founder of.

The iconic comedian, 72, arrived at the event in a black blouse and floral lace pants. Showing off her figure, Midler stood out in the chic ensemble, which she finished off with a pair of metallic-silver shoes.

The Hocus Pocus actress highlighted her natural beauty with a palette of flawless makeup, while her voluminous silver hair was curled and brushed back. She finished off the chic ensemble with a pair of gold loop earrings and a matching gold bracelet.

American designer Michael Kors led the festivities, which included food trucks, face painting, live music and more. The NYRP has spent the last 20 years transforming open spaces in New York’s under-resourced communities to be safer, healthier and happier.

It’s been a busy week for Midler, who was also pictured sporting a rose-coloured full-length dress at the NYRP’s 2018 annual spring picnic on Tuesday. Teaming her ensemble with a cute owl bag, the actress kept her makeup to the minimum.

Recognised for her bold fashion choices, the 72-year-old actress and comedian is also known for airing her bold views on social media site Twitter. Back in February, Midler took direct aim at President Donald Trump’s new calls to arm school teachers with fire arms.

Using the iconic opening scene from The Sound of Music, Midler edited on two guns into actress Julie Andrews’ hands, which appeared to fire as she spun in circles on the hill singing ‘The Hills Are Alive’. Letting the powerful video do the talking, she simply captioned the post: “Enter the choir teacher…”

The tweet received mixed reactions from other users, with many sharing photos of a Photoshopped Trump being held down by FBI, while another photo showed an army man with “art teacher” written across his bullet-proof vest.

One user commented: “You are hysterical, lady!!! And yet, it’s sad,” while another added: “The hills are alive with gunfire”.
