Lisa Wilkinson shows off stunning roses from home garden

Lisa Wilkinson poses in her backyard at her Sydney home.

They say everyone should stop to smell the roses once in a while and it looks like Lisa Wilkinson is doing just that.

The former Today host has been enjoying some downtime since quitting her role on the breakfast show and now she’s showing of the fruits of her labour.

Wilkinson took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a photo of the gorgeous Pierre de Ronsard pink roses growing in her garden.

Well, I am on ‘gardening leave’,” she wrote with the image.

Pierre de Ronsard is a pink and white climbing rose, also known as Eden Rose. It’s popular with gardeners around the country for its fragrant scent and luscious blooms that flower in abundance every year.

The photo was met with praise by many admiring green thumbs, but a few couldn’t help taking a cheeky swipe at garden guru Don Burke while they had the chance.

“I’m hoping Don Bourke didn’t give you any tips!” one woman wrote.

It’s not the first time Wilkinson has given fans a peek into her garden at her Sydney home.

In July she shared a photo of herself and her dog Maggie sitting in their backyard.

The luscious garden was lined with low hedges and a featured a water fountain in the centre.

The 57-year-old kept the gardening theme alive at the Walkley Awards in Sydney on Wednesday night, sporting a black off-the-shoulder dress with a pretty flower decoration across the chest.
