Every now and again a video comes along on social media that makes us all feel a bit emotional, and this one is no exception.

A heartwarming video has gone viral on social media this weekend, in which a heart transplant recipient reads an emotional letter from the mother of his donor.

The video, posted by Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Centre on Facebook has been viewed more than 600,000 times in just two days.

In the mother’s letter, she talks about her son and how proud she was that he could save someone’s life.

“As hard as his passing is, knowing that he was able to give you and others a second chance makes me very proud,” the mother wrote.

The heart transplant recipient, clearly moved by the letter, continues to read on.

“If you ever feel like breakdancing, that’s my boy letting you know that it’s all good,” the letter reads.

“I would love to continue communicating with you, maybe get to hear my son’s heartbeat again one day. PS, the only tattoo my only son ever had was a smiley face.”

It’s a beautiful gesture that has moved people on social media to tears and created a conversation around organ donation.

Tell us, are you an organ donor? Did this video make you emotional?
