Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep give up glamour for ‘Big Little Lies’ night out

It was a ladies night out for Nicole Kidman and her Big Little Lies co-stars on Sunday night, with the group of famous actresses happily donning the same sweaty hire-shoes as everyone else at the bowling alley where they hosted their get-together.

The 50-year-old actress posted a series of clips to social media as she, Meryl Streep, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley and Zoe Kravitz showed off their skills on the lanes. Laura Dern, the other well-known actress who has a recurring role on the hit series, was noticeably absent from the outing.

Kidman, wearing jeans and with her naturally curly hair pulled back in a bun, captioned the post: “Sunday night fun with our amazing #BigLittleLies crew.”

Kidman then posted a photo of herself and the rest of the all-star cast cheering on Streep, 68, as she bowled.

And the ladies of Big Little Lies did more than just bowling over the weekend. Witherspoon, Dern and Kravitz enjoyed a night out on Saturday, when they went to the movies to support Woodley’s new film, Adrift. All four of them shared a photo to social media of them posing outside the movie theatre.

Taking to Instagram, Witherspoon wrote: “What a night at the movies !

Woodley also thanked her cast mates for their support on her latests project. She wrote on Instagram: “WHAT TRUE SUPPORT AND SISTERHOOD LOOKS LIKE. I feel so shown up for. #adrift @adriftmovie.”

Not much has been revealed about the second season of Big Little Lies, though fans do know that Streep will be portraying the character of Mary Louise Wright, the mother of Alexander Skarsgard’s character Perry, and mother-in-law to 50-year-old Nicole’s character Celeste.

Witherspoon spoke in February about how happy she was that Streep would be joining the all-star cast on the series, which Witherspoon and Nicole produce and is based on a book of the same name by Aussie author Liane Moriarty. “Well, [Meryl] sent an email to Nicole and I,” Reese recalled on the Seth Myers show in March. “And it said, ‘Okay, I read the part and I love it and I’m going to do it’.”

Big Little Lies is currently filming its second season which will air on HBO in 2019.
