First look at Goldie Hawn’s precious new granddaughter

This is just adorable. Less than a week after giving birth to a healthy baby girl, Kate Hudson – the actress daughter of Hollywood legend Goldie Hawn – has given the world their first look at the new baby.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Kate shared a sweet snap of the newborn wrapped in a blanket and wearing a gorgeous pink hat complete with a bright bow.

“Our little rosebud,” the Raising Helen star captioned the photo.

The 39-year-old star and partner Danny Fujikawa welcomed their new baby last Tuesday and revealed her unique name on social media shortly after. It turns out the name is a touching tribute to Danny’s father.

Taking to Instagram with a special post, Kate revealed the pair had chosen the name Rani Rose Hudson Fujikawa, with Rani pronounced as “Ronnoe”, in tribute to Danny’s late father Ron.

“We have decided to name our daughter Rani (pronounced Ronnie) after her grandfather, Ron Fujikawa,” Kate explained. “Ron was the most special man who we all miss dearly.

“To name her after him is an honour. Everyone is doing well and happy as can be. Our family thanks you for all the love and blessings that have been sent out way and we send ours right back.”

Little Rani is the couple’s first child together, although Kate is also the mother of 14-year-old Ryder Russell and seven-year-old Bingham Hawn. Both were from previous relationships. Rani is also a welcomed edition to Goldie’s growing number of grandchildren.

In fact, she is Goldie and husband Kurt Russell’s sixth grandchild. They’re also grandparents to two other grandsons and another granddaughter.

The news of Goldie’s latest grandchild was first announced in April. Kate explained on social media that she was pregnant with a little girl. Sharing a clever video, the Fool’s Gold actress was spotted popping a balloon which revealed dozens of smaller pink balloons inside.

“SURPRISE!!! If you’ve wondered why I’ve been so absent on my social channels it’s because I have never been more sick!” Kate wrote. “We have been trying to keep this pregnancy under the radar for as long as possible but I’m a poppin now!

“And it’s too darn challenging to hide, and frankly hiding is more exhausting then just coming out with it! My kids, Danny, myself and the entire family are crazy excited! A little girl on the way.”
