Elderly man arrested after woman in her 80s found dead ‘at aged care home’

An elderly man has been arrested after police discovered the body of a woman in her 80s at a residence in Melbourne’s east on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were called to the scene on Mount View Road, at The Basin at around 12.40pm today, where they located the deceased woman.

Victoria Police confirmed that a man, also in his 80s, was arrested at the scene and confirmed that homicide detectives were on their way to the residential address.

According to reports by The Age, the woman was found dead at an aged care facility.
