Ozzy Osbourne reveals what brought him closer to wife Sharon

Ozzy Osbourne revealed he is closer than ever to wife Sharon after being forced to spend more time at home as he recovered from a horror fall in 2019.

The 71-year-old musician underwent surgery last year after suffering a fall which aggravated a neck injury that he originally sustained during a quad biking accident in 2003.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph Magazine, the Black Sabbath rocker admitted he was initially worried about being confined to the house following surgery as he has “never had a year off in his life”. But Ozzy said the recuperation time had the opposite effect, actually bringing the couple, who have been married since 1982, closer together.

“To be perfectly honest with you, we’ve gotten closer,” he told the publication. “I’m 71 now, she’s 66 or something, and at this time of my life I’d like to have got out OK.”

The star, who recently opened up about his Parkinson’s Disease diagnosis, revealed that when the surgeon initially told him he’d be out of action for a year his first thought was that it would drive him and his family mad.

He added: “I’ve never had a year off in my life! I’ve never been home this long in 50 years! It’s driving me mad, and I’m driving my family f***ing mad.”

Last month Sharon made headlines herself as she debuted a strikingly different look, having ditched her signature bright red locks for a more natural grey colour.

The 67-year-old star – who has worked in music management and sat on the judging panel of TV shows such as The X Factor and America’s Got Talent – had to dye her hair once a week to maintain the vibrant red colour, according to her stylist Jack Martin, so its no wonder she’s finally ditched the dye and decided to embrace her natural grey locks.

Martin  – whose niche is helping his clients go grey – showed off the results of the reality star’s transformation online, revealing the change took a total of eight hours. And the mother-of-three looked unrecognisable in the social media snap as she smiled for the camera, showing off her fresh new ‘do, which had been dyed a platinum shade of grey and blow dried into a classic coiffed style.

Alongside the picture, the US-based hair stylist wrote: “Another great day in my career welcoming the most beautiful and elegant talk show host and entertainer @sharonosbourne for a complete transformation.

“Sharon has 100% white hair and she was colouring her hair once a week dark vibrant red for the past 18 years. She explained to me that she wanted to do this transformation a long time ago but every time she attempts it ends up with a disaster. Sharon was very tired of colouring her hair once a week and she was obligated to since she is on tv almost every day hosting her popular tv show @thetalkcbs .[sic]”
