‘Happy birthday Babygirl!’ Keith Urban leads tributes as Nicole Kidman turns 53

Nicole Kidman celebrated her 53rd birthday yesterday and proud husband Keith Urban seized the opportunity to dedicate a sweet message to the Australian superstar.

The 52-year-old country music star led the tributes to his wife, writing on Instagram: “WHAT A GIFT JANELLE AND ANTONY KIDMAN BROUGHT INTO THE WORLD ON THIS DAY !!! Happy Birthday Babygirl.” While Nicole’s close friend and Big Little Lies co star Reese Witherspoon commented on Keith’s post and said: “Happy Birthday Nic!!”

Keith also shared an image of his wife peering out from behind an array of colourful balloons, as the couple remain in lockdown with their two daughters at home in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Moulin Rouge star also shared a birthday message of her own as she uploaded a short video clip to Instagram in which she thanked her followers for their birthday wishes. Holding a large bouquet of stunning flowers, she said: “Thanks for all the birthday love!”

Nicole looks stunning in the short clip and is wearing a crisp white shirt. The mother-of-four also shows off her natural curly hair and glowing complexion as she blows a kiss to the camera.

Nicole has been relatively quiet on social media in recent weeks, however last month she updated fans on her health after she was spotted out wearing a moon boot. The Lion actress left fans worried she assured her followers she was on the mend, posting a message about her recovery from a broken ankle online.

“Thank you for all the well wishes and love,” she wrote. Adding jokingly: “I’m back on the right track … and almost back on the right foot.”

Keith revealed how his wife sustained the injury during an interview with The Project in May. During the chat the singer said it was simply a small accident and that his wife had been “running around the neighbourhood, as she does, and didn’t see a pot-hole”.
