‘You are so loved’: Nicole Kidman’s touching post to mum on birthday

Nicole Kidman warmed the hearts of many across the globe this week with a touching message to her beloved mother on her birthday.

The much-loved Aussie actress expressed her admiration for her mum, explaining to her fans just how much she treasures their relationship.

Taking to social media, the Eyes Wide Shut star shared a gorgeous snap of the two together, along with a sweet note to the woman who raised her.

“Happy birthday Mumma – you are SO SO LOVED!!” she wrote alongside the beautiful photo of the two published on Instagram.

The actress then made mention of a second photo included in the post of her stunning mum from years ago, when she worked as a nurse. Her mother can be seen smiling broadly in her traditional nursing uniform in the snap, which was worn by many during that time.

“P.S. I love this photo from her nursing days at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Royal Hospital for Women, Sydney,” Nicole added.

The adorable post received plenty of attention from Nicole’s fans who were quick to comment on how beautiful the pair are, with may claiming they could definitely see the family resemblance.

“You both have that light behind your eyes and lovely smiles,” one person wrote.

“I see where you get your beauty from! Happy birthday Mumma,” another added. While a third said: “Happy birthday to a lovely lady who made a beautiful actress.”

This wasn’t the first time the much-loved star has taken to social media to share snaps of her beloved family. Last month Nicole posted a series of throwback photos of her late grandmother in her younger years, and the resemblance between the two was striking.

Taking to Instagram, the 51-year-old shared a sweet birthday tribute, captioning the post: “In loving memory of my grandmother who was such an important part of my life. It would have been her birthday today.”

The photos sparked a huge reaction from fans, with plenty noting just how similar the pair look.

In the black-and-white images, her grandmother has a slim, straight nose, arched eyebrows and a defined jaw — all very similar to her granddaughter’s features – and it wasn’t long before fans commented on the physical similarities between the two.

One commentator wrote: “Oh wow, the eyes and the mouth are nearly identical.” Another added: “You look so much like here. Especially the eyes.”

While a third wrote: “What a beautiful woman. You look a lot like her. Wow.”
